I hold a PhD in Engineering, and over many years I have pursued research at the intersection of physics, mathematics, and environmental science, often using MATLAB and advanced data analysis methods. As a NASA-funded researcher, I’ve worked with satellite and in-situ environmental datasets, modeling climate and water systems in the Great Lakes and polar regions. Because of this broad technical grounding, I enjoy helping students connect abstract theory to real-world science problems — not just solving equations, but understanding why those equations matter.

I have been tutoring and mentoring students one-on-one for over eight years, guiding learners at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels. My experience ranges from helping students understand core physics and mathematics, to advising on independent research projects, to supporting thesis work. In particular, I’ve worked with students in the Lumiere Research Scholar Program, helping them carry out 12-week research projects under my mentorship. Over ten of these students went on to attend top-tier colleges and graduate programs. In these settings, I’ve had the pleasure of advising students on research topic selection, experimental or computational design, data analysis, and the presentation or writing of results.

My teaching and mentoring style is rooted in empathy, clarity, and adaptation: I strive to understand each student’s background, strengths, and learning style, and to present explanations that emphasize intuition and application over rote memorization. Whether we’re debugging MATLAB code, exploring physical models, or interpreting data trends, my aim is to help you build confidence in your own understanding — so you can tackle new challenges independently. If you're preparing for an exam, tackling a research project, or simply building your foundational skills, I’m here to help you learn deeply, not superficially.

Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I hold a PhD in Engineering and lead NASA-funded research focused on environmental and climate data analysis. My work involves processing and interpreting large datasets from satellites and in-situ instruments using MATLAB, Python, and statistical modeling. I have over eight years of experience mentoring students and researchers in data analysis, quantitative reasoning, and visualization techniques. My tutoring emphasizes understanding the science behind the numbers—helping learners turn raw data into clear, meaningful insights.
Earth Science

Earth Science

I hold a PhD in Engineering and conduct NASA-funded research focused on Earth and environmental systems, including climate, hydrology, and remote sensing. My work examines how satellite and field data reveal changes in water quality, ice cover, and land processes. I have over eight years of experience teaching and mentoring students in Earth science, environmental modeling, and data interpretation. My approach emphasizes connecting physical processes with real-world observations to make complex Earth systems understandable and engaging.
Environmental Science

Environmental Science

I hold a PhD in Engineering and lead NASA-funded research focused on environmental systems, climate processes, and water quality. My work integrates satellite observations with field data to study how human and natural factors influence our planet’s ecosystems. I have over eight years of experience mentoring students in environmental science, data interpretation, and sustainability topics. My teaching style connects real-world research to core environmental concepts, helping students understand not just what happens in nature, but why it matters.
MATLAB

MATLAB

I hold a PhD in Engineering and use MATLAB extensively in my NASA-funded research for environmental modeling, signal processing, and large-scale data analysis. With over eight years of experience, I’ve taught students and researchers how to code efficiently, debug complex scripts, and translate equations into working models. My tutoring covers everything from basic syntax to advanced data visualization and algorithm development. I emphasize practical problem-solving so students not only learn MATLAB but also understand how to apply it to real-world scientific and engineering challenges.
