I am currently an MD candidate at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (expected graduation May 2026) and hold a BA in Chemistry from Michigan State University, where I graduated with Honors and was a member of both the Honors College and the Charles Drew Science Scholars. I have a strong background in tutoring and mentoring through both formal and informal experiences. As a Peer Academic Coach at Michigan State, I tutored undergraduate students in chemistry by organizing and leading study sessions focused on collaborative learning. At Mask Memorial C.M.E. Church, I volunteered as a coach and mentor, helping K-12 students across a range of subjects and supporting high school students with their college applications.
While in medical school, I served as the Health Science Exploration Curriculum Chair, volunteering at a local elementary school. I helped create and implement engaging, health-focused science lessons aimed at inspiring young learners. In addition to these structured roles, I have regularly helped friends and peers in both undergraduate and medical school settings. I focused on both students who needed to prepare for the MCAT, as well as students who needed help adjusting to the new rigor of medical school. My tutoring style is highly student-dependent. I guide students by asking questions that help them work through problems and better understand the material on their own. I focus on helping students learn how to think rather than simply what to think, encouraging independent reasoning and confidence.
Across all roles, I have worked with students of varying ages and academic backgrounds in one-on-one and group settings. I am committed to supporting learners by meeting them where they are and helping them grow through curiosity, clarity, and critical thinking.
