Bio

I am an energetic educator who has been teaching most of my life. I went to college to be a high school English and Speech teacher. After graduating with honors, I went on to teach middle school, high school, and served as both a Debate Coach and coached and judged competitive high school Speech and Forensics tournaments. Later my career transitioned to the business world (corporate business development and VP of Sales).

My teaching experience was very transferable to business. My business success has, in part, been a result of utilizing my communication, writing, public speaking, and listening skills - all skills I used daily as a high school teacher. I have also mentored, trained, motivated, and helped others along the way.

For the past several years I ran my own boutique search practice. Last summer I merged my practice with a small firm in Tyson's Corner. I have left executive search and joined one of my clients on an independent contractor basis to develop business for them in some niche areas.

I really enjoy tutoring and do so on a part time basis. I would love to help your child improve his/her grades and increase his/her skills in reading, writing, and speaking . As a teacher who gives positive reinforcement and assistance to my students, I believe many of them can be empowered to be more successful in their academic pursuits!

Knowledgeable and patient teacher.

Miss Susan has a way to help my son to improve the writing skills. She finds information to review with my son, gives prompts to work on, and provide useful suggestions. My son enjoys the lesson with Miss Sue.

Very friendly and patient

My son is learning English from Sue. He was very hesitant for an English class but after first session he had great things about Sue and said I like my teacher. When I saw the notes I was very impressed, she went way beyond my expectations and teaching excellently. Feeling lucky to have found Ms Sue. Thank you very much, we are expecting a long term commitment with Ms Sue.

Very knowledgeable, kind and patient

Susan has been a very helpful tutor, she is very knowledgeable and more importantly she is very patient. It has been a pleasure to be able to work with her. She has helped my daughter with her ELA assignments. I cannot describe the feeling of accomplishment after seeing her work. We are very lucky to have Susan as our daughter tutor. Thanks Ms. Sue. 👌👍🙏

Patient and understanding

Susan was very patient with my daughter. She has been struggling with virtual learning due to Covid so I signed her up for tutoring classes. My daughter has been working on past overdue assignments in her school and scrambling to turn in her assignments before the semester ends. She neglected to do the assignment that Susan gave her and showed up to her lesson late. Susan was very patient and understanding with her and yet my daughter was late and neglectful, Susan still discounted the class as it wasn't the full hour. Susan is extremely knowledgeable in English and I know in a short time, my daughter will start feeling more confident in English and will reap the benefits of having Susan as her tutor.
