In college, I was a math major and I've continued to successfully tutor students in everything from Algebra I to Calculus I, II, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. For math majors looking for extra help, advanced math is also one of my specialties.

I also have a PhD in biochemistry. I've taught in a classroom setting Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry. I've also been tutoring other aspects of the physical sciences, including college level Physics I and II, General Biology 1 and 2, Physiology, as well as Organic Chemistry I and II and Biochemistry. College students studying advanced science--I'm the tutor for you.

One of my greatest strengths is tutoring for the MCAT, which combines all aspects of the biochemical and physical sciences. I've also helped high school students achieve success in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, at all levels - from regular track to 4's and 5's on the AP exams. I work individually with each student to identify their problem areas and to address their specific needs.

I enjoy working with students and find great pleasure in seeing my students succeed. I'm patient and am skilled at explaining ideas and concepts in multiple ways to accommodate the needs of the students. I have a laid back demeanor, and I try to make studying science and math as stress-free and enjoyable and enjoyable. I will always answer your calls and texts, and I'm great at responding to emergency "My problem set is due tomorrow?!?!" or "I have a test when?!" situations.

I'm always happy to provide references from the parents of previous students if you'd like them.

If you have any questions at all, or are interested in working with me, please don't hesitate to email!

MCAT is hands, down, the subject that I tutor most frequently. I target the test-taking and scientific analysis skills required to succeed on the MCAT through a mix of problems, scientific literature and passage analysis. I am well-versed in teaching any of the sciences covered on the exam - General chemistry, Organic chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics and Biology. I also run a daily MCAT group that is designed to target the highest yield topics on the MCAT. Each group session is 30 mins long, online and recorded so that students can review the video at their convenience; the teaching is interactive and students can ask questions during the mini-lecture. In addition, to cover the psychology/sociology portion of the exam and the CARS section of the exam, I've partnered with two amazing tutors who teach group sessions on Psych/Soc material and the CARS material covered by the MCAT. During group, we are constantly reviewing high yield MCAT material and teaching in the way the AAMC tests the topics. We often have more than 2-3 MCAT topics being covered each day in group and sessions are unlimited. All of the study materials you need are also provided, including textbooks, practice problems, review books and practice passages. I also do one-on-one tutoring for the Chem/Phys and Bio/Biochem portions of the exam, but the group is designed to be affordable, personalized and a great way to keep MCAT material fresh until your test day!

Best MCAT Course you can sign up for

When I first tried to study for the MCAT; I was overwhelmed with the amount of material I had to deal with, jumping back and forth between topics, and failing to apply the content I learned to practice passages. This was until I accidentally came across Cara Marie’s profile and learned about the MCAT group she runs; I decided to give it a try and sign up and by all means I can say it was the BEST DECISION I EVER MADE! The MCAT is a beast in nature; and working through it will require not just someone that teaches you the content but also somebody that can help keep you on track with the overwhelming amount of material you are hit with. She will incorporate AAMC style questions into her mini lectures every day, as you will get to see directly how the material is tested and you will start to develop an intuition on the patterns that the MCAT test writers follow. She will also adjust review sessions based on your needs and you will find her doing high yield review passages that the MCAT writes loves to test about. This is something you will not find at other review courses, where the study schedule is tailored to the student needs and not set in stone ahead of time. Panya and Dan are also great MCAT tutors that will run sessions for the CARS and the psych/soc section. Cara Marie is a wonderful MCAT tutor and is the person you need there for you through your MCAT journey. She is easily accessible by text whenever you need her, and is an amazing tutor and mentor that will support you throughout the process. I cannot recommend her any higher than this; At an affordable rate, your studying will be organized and personalized where the MCAT might not be as scary as you once thought it was.

Miracle worker & brilliant teacher (11/10)

CM was the best MCAT tutor I could've found. She was kind, patient, thoughtful, and brilliant. CM would go through practice problems with me and give concise lectures on topics I needed to gain familiarity with. She was impressively knowledgeable on every scientific topic and expertly helped me navigate what the AAMC expected me to know. I finished every session with more and more confidence with her help and encouragement to tackle the topics I struggled with most. If you are looking for MCAT help at any level, CM is the most helpful tutor you can get. I would recommend her to any person hoping to improve testing strategies, content, and anything science-related.
