Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Most of my tutoring done through WyzAnt is helping students with Algebra 1 and 2. Several members of my family are high school and college Math teachers, and through their experience I learned many of the common challenges students encounter when learning algebra for the first time. I use this knowledge to identify the tools my students will need to approach the subject in the way that works best for them.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

Angular

Angular

Angular is my preferred framework for building high performance front-ends for my web applications. Angular is also a key component to the Ionic framework, which I use to build native applications for iOS and Android devices.
Calculus

Calculus

Before I graduated high school, I had completed Calculus I, II, and Multi-Variable Calculus. During college, every course I took towards my Math degree relied on calculus. Combine this with my tutoring experience, I have been involved with teaching and learning Calculus for over 10 years.
Computer Programming

Computer Programming

I have been working as a Javascript Developer for over 10 years. I also apply rigorous standards to my own work guided by concepts taught in computer science courses.
CSS

CSS

CSS is one of the core languages of the web. It defines the style of websites and web applications by changing the appearance of HTML elements in a browser. I use CSS and its superset language Sass daily when I am designing the user interface for my web application projects.
JavaScript

JavaScript

As a web application developer, I am very familiar with JavaScript and the frameworks and libraries built with JavaScript. I am also well versed in TypeScript and Coffee Script, languages that transpile into JavaScript.
Linear Algebra

Linear Algebra

I have completed three courses dedicated to Advanced Linear Algebra at UMBC. As an undergraduate, I did two years of research in computational biology that relied heavily on matrix equations and efficient linear algebra methods. I believe that Linear Algebra is the most useful mathematics to apply to real world situations, and I am very enthusiastic about sharing my knowledge on the subject.
Precalculus

Probability

Probability

Probability and Statistics courses were among my favorite at UMBC, and I immensely enjoy teaching these subjects to others. Among all of the subjects I have taught and learned, I find these to be the most practical in everyday life. I especially have had great success in helping college students be successful in these challenging subjects.
Python

Python

I am a full stack developer for mobile and web applications. Python is the language used for Django, a web application framework used in many of my projects' APIs. Python also comes with many packages built for scientific programming and machine learning, which I have used in research projects.

Great tutor!

Caleb did a great job with a difficult subject in Pre Calculus. It was a last minute call for help and he was able to meet on short notice and do a great job. He was very flexible with meeting on the weekend and in the evening after school! We are so glad to have him as a support when we need it!

What My Child Needed

Caleb was just the right choice to help my child out with Honors Algebra II. I wanted someone who could relate the material well to my 9th grader, communicated with me in a timely manner and had schedule/location flexibility that met our availability. Caleb possessed all of those qualities and came in to assist toward the ending of the marking period. We're still waiting for the final outcome on grades but are hopeful his guidance produced improvement.
