I'm Ron, and I want to thank you for considering me as your Wyzant tutor. With degrees from Georgia Tech and The George Washington University, I bring a solid academic background to the table. Now retired, I've been teaching and tutoring math for many years and truly enjoy working with students of all ages. My informal style helps build a comfortable rapport with students, making learning a pleasant experience. I'm driven by those "lightbulb moments" when a new concept clicks for a student, and I believe they find it rewarding too.

In addition to tutoring with Wyzant, I tutor math at Howard Community College (HCC) in Maryland and previously taught an Algebra 1 Review class as part of HCC’s summer enrichment program. Whether you need to learn a topic from scratch, tackle homework problems, or prepare for tests, I’m here to help. I always ensure we cover previous skills and concepts to build a strong foundation.

I like to prepare for our sessions (free of charge) and would appreciate it if you could send me your topics or homework a day or so in advance. While not necessary, it allows me to tailor the session to your needs and develop helpful materials like handouts or Desmos examples.

Your success in math is my priority, and I'm dedicated to doing whatever it takes to help you achieve your goals. My schedule is very flexible, and I'm always open to suggestions. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session.

  • Rate details: No-Show Policy: If a student has not arrived by 10 minutes past the scheduled start of a session, then I will cancel the session. If this happens a 2nd time, then I will no longer tutor the student.

Great Algebra 2 Tutor!

Ronald has been tutoring my twins in Algebra 2 for several weeks. He is hands down the best math tutor we have used on Wyzant. We tried others when Ron was not available and each time my twins report that Ron is the best in explaining the complex concepts in a relatable way that keeps them engaged. My twins even ask for extended sessions with Ron. As a result of his consistent tutoring , my twins' grade in Algebra 2 has gone up significantly. We can only credit their recent turnaround success to Ron's reliable support. Thank you, Ron!

Very thorough and patient!
