Hi, I’m Jonathan! I tutor Biology and English, and I love helping students feel confident in their learning!
I’m currently a Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University and a Vivien Thomas Doctoral Scholar. Before Hopkins, I spent time at MIT, Harvard Medical School, and Duke University, where I built a strong foundation in science and mentorship. I graduated from North Carolina Central University with honors, where I also served as President of the National Biology Honor Society and worked as a peer tutor for several years.
Tutoring has been part of my life since I was 18, and it’s something I genuinely enjoy. At Johns Hopkins, I stay involved in mentoring through Project Bridge, a science communication group, and as an executive board member of the Biomedical Scholars Association, where I support my fellow students. I also give back by judging for the Maryland Science Olympiad and volunteering at local science fairs across Baltimore. My goal as a tutor is simple: to break down tough ideas, make learning engaging, and support each student’s unique goals!
