I am a Boston-based singer, music director, and private teacher. As a classically trained mezzo-soprano I have an active soloist and ensemble career. As a music director and musical theatre performer I am familiar with the repertoire and technique you need to successfully audition for any show, school, or program. As a pianist I work regularly as an accompanist and private teacher. As a lifelong musician with a Masters in Music and a freelance career of my own I have the expertise and passion to help you realize your musical goals, whatever they might be.
I teach all levels of voice and beginner/intermediate piano. I am currently the choral director at Boston Latin Academy and work as a visiting accompanist/music director at Bridgewater State University. Utilizing my classical voice training alongside my musical and acting background, I work as a musical theatre coach and music director.
I have worked with Et Al., ACJW Carnegie Hall Fellowship, Harvard Pro Musica, Clouds and a Waffle Productions, Songful Artists, The Very Merry Dickens Carolers, and many other organizations and ensembles. I am currently the alto soloist at Hancock United. I have also music directed shows including The Addams Family, Annie, Beauty and the Beast, Cabaret, and Into the Woods as well as taught at The Winsor School, Roxbury Latin, The Performing Arts Connection, Greater Boston Stage Company, Boston Children's Theatre, and many others.
In addition to teaching at BLA and BSU I also maintain a private voice studio from my home and teach workshops on things including Acting the Song, Improvisation, Songwriting, Musical Theatre Performance, Choral Skills, and much more.
Through an understanding of technique, music theory, and the anatomy of the voice / construction of the instrument students can begin to make their own informed decisions and enjoy the reward of conscientious music making. If you are interested in a serious, committed, joyful, and informed learning environment to improve yourself as a musician, then I am the coach for you.
