Hello! My name is Brooke and I have previously tutored students during my undergraduate time at the University of Vermont (UVM) where I studied biomedical engineering (BME) with a focus in cell, tissue, and organ biomechanics. I ended my undergraduate coursework with a 3.63 GPA.

Due to my love for Vermont and the positive lab experience that I was completing in the Biomedical Nanotechnology and Biomaterials Lab I decided to stay at UVM to do an accelerated master's in BME. During my first semester as a master's student, I was a teaching assistant for a 2-credit senior-level class where I ran the lab section for 37 students. I was very involved with their final design projects which were focused on 3D bioprinting. This allowed for me to help the students take their ideas and bring them to life in a short timeline, as well as become very comfortable with using G-code and troubleshooting bioprinters. The last semester of my master's I was a teaching assistant for a 6-credit sophomore-level class. For this role I was in the classroom helping students with various topics like biothermodynamics, fluid dynamics, drug delivery, and material science.

I successfully defended my master's thesis titled "Testing and modeling protein adsorption kinetics on nanoparticles towards improved drug delivery" and ended my coursework with a 3.87 GPA. My time at UVM exposed me to a range of teaching styles from which I was able to see the effectiveness of. I want to work with each student to help build their confidence so that they can complete their work in a way that they feel good about.

I am currently a PhD student at Tufts University studying paper devices for streamlined at-home blood testing. I believe that my range of involvement within academia makes me a suitable person for tutoring your child, especially given my excitement towards helping others. I look forward to being a part of your child's academic journey!
