My job as a test prep tutor is to teach the necessary concepts and practices that will help my students fully understand any exam. Bringing over 10 years of experience and a background in curriculum development, I tailor lessons to my students' abilities to help them overcome their fear of failure, improve their self-confidence and perpetuate self-motivation.

My job as a test prep tutor is to teach the necessary concepts and practices that will help my students fully understand any exam. Bringing over 10 years of experience and a background in curriculum development, I tailor lessons to my students' abilities to help them overcome their fear of failure, improve their self-confidence and perpetuate self-motivation.

When it comes to standardized tests, each problem can be daunting. The language can seem confusing and putting pencil to paper can feel overwhelming. With Math, helping my students to learn the art of translating the problem into expressions and equations that can be solved is my main focus. Along with Translation, I teach my students the Basic Math Curriculum in Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry along with the Problem Solving Skills that will help students get to the answer. In Verbal, I teach students Reading Strategies that help them fully understanding passages quickly and efficiently. Methods of Pinpointing Keywords and Indicators that connect the questions to the passage is also a focus on my teaching. This along with my Vocabulary Regimens has helped students become much more comfortable going into the test.

I am always looking to teach and encourage students. Each student comes with his or her own story and I'm here to help guide them. I act as a mentor to my students and hope to aid students in achieving long-term academic success.

I have a cumulative GMAT score that is 710/800 (92 percentile) right out of college. I have since then improved my own abilities as a test prep tutor and prepare students by targeting misconceptions or holes in their understanding of math concepts while providing targeted practice to improve their verbal score. My students also improve their scores through my highly regimented study schedule and my motivational coaching, and as the test approaches, I transition from a more conceptual approach to a focus on troubleshooting specific types of problems.

I have a Verbal Reasoning score of 162 and a Quantitative Reasoning score of 166 with which I was accepted to Harvard GSE. I utilize concepts and strategies learned as an SAT instructor and apply these techniques to the GRE. I also create an intense vocabulary memorization regiment and fine tune each lesson to pinpoint weaknesses and teach the curriculum needed to overcome these weaknesses. Students from the 30th percentile to the 90th percentile have come to me for help.
