I have tutored math since taking calculus when I began holding after-school sessions with groups of my peers. I have experience tutoring a wide array of subjects in math: from prealgebra to precalculus, to multivariable calculus and linear algebra. I am here to help you achieve your goals and help you understand mathematical reasoning with utmost clarity and confidence. A little bit about myself: I am a recent graduate of the M.S. degree program in Mathematics at Tufts University where I focused on the three major cornerstones of Contemporary Mathematics: Analysis (Real & Complex), Abstract Algebra, and Geometry/Topology. I completed my undergraduate education at Saint Anselm College where I majored in Mathematics, with a secondary major in Classics. I graduated in the top 5% of my class from St. A’s with an Honors B.A., Magna Cum Laude.

I've tutored high school students from Philips Academy, Bedford High, Lexington High, Cambridge Rindge and Latin, Boston Latin, Concord Academy, the Commonwealth School, Noble and Greenough, the Rivers School, and many other wonderful schools in this great state of ours; some of my students have gone on to Yale, Tufts, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley, UChicago, Brown, Union College, Wellesley, Washington University, UMass, Northeastern, BC, BU, and many other fantastic Universities and Colleges. Calculus

Calculus

Calculus is the math that quantifies change. Whereas algebra quantifies structure and geometry quantifies space. Calculus is the place where algebra, geometry, and the overarching concepts and ideas of change, come together as a narrative. Calculus is the entrance to modern mathematics. In College, I studied Calculus both intensively and extensively. Intensively by studying Calculus I, II, III and Differential Equations; but, more importantly, by understanding the theoretical and proof-based foundation of the subject through Advanced Calculus I-II courses. I studied the subject extensively by seeing its application in courses such as Numerical Analysis, Complex Variables, Calculus-based Physics and Calculus-based Statistics. In Graduate School, I explored the theoretical aspect of Calculus more thoroughly by taking Mathematical Analysis I-II, Measure/Integration Theory, and Complex Analysis. The rigorous treatment and proof-approach of n-dimensional Calculus, through the tools of logic, has taught me why Calculus works, not just how it works. The title of this subject can be misleading: it sounds easy but it's actually more abstract than it sounds. It can be difficult to conceptualize some topics in this subject, but don't worry I am here to help! Engineering majors who are required to take this class will find it to be one of their more difficult math classes. In College, I was instructed in this subject using Gilbert Strang's book Linear Algebra, 3rd edition, Wellesley-Cambridge Press. I highly recommend this book. Filling in content-gaps is the first and best strategy. Time management skills are just as important. I will break up practice tests into smaller timed chunks to get you, or your child, to know how to work at a good pace. I will then look at the incorrect answers and discuss the content in a narrative that teaches the person how to do and understand similar problems. Great and effective tutor

Chris is a very knowledgeable and a patient Math tutor. Our son was struggling in his high school BC Calculus class taught by a difficult and demanding teacher. After trying a few tutors, Chris was the only one who was able to quickly diagnose the issues, close the learning gaps, and help our son greatly improve his understanding of the material, raise his school grade, as well score a 5 on the AP test. Chris has the unique ability to connect with the student and also effectively communicate with the parents. He is always prompt and a pleasure to work with him. There are many math tutors available in WYZANT to teach kids who are in average, above average or below average math levels , BUT not everybody can teach top level math students .So, if you are looking for a real good and talented math tutor for your kid (any level), then Chris is your teacher.
