My name is Robert. I have recently relocated to Boston from North Bay.

I have a MFA in playwriting and an MA in mathematics because I am passionate about teaching and discovery. I have taught and tutored all ages from preschool through college, in all levels of biology, mathematics, physics, reading, and writing.

For the past five years, I have worked as a contest judge -- reading and evaluating stories and providing gentle guidance to the writers. In addition, I have worked as a long-term tutor for several families and adults on a wide range of subjects from Algebra and Calculus to Writing and Physics.

My passion for learning stems from my firsthand experiences with students. In past summers, my students and I have counted trees, collected bugs, and banded chicks. This past winter we pruned trees with the Charles River Conservancy. In the spring, my Cambridge Science Festival exhibit let passers-by explore and imitate birdsong.

Working in these diverse environments has taught me how to guide students toward discovery and then to let them explore, how to teach a new idea and then get out of the way. In addition, my experiences as an actor and a playwright have taught me how to inspire students to uncover their own ideas and express them.

My goal is to get students excited about learning, the world, and the future. I truly appreciate your time. Thank you.

perfect tutor

Robert was amazing when I needed help with physics, he explained things perfectly and was very helpful and very good at explaining when I didn’t understand it. Him and I went over my study guide for my physics exam and it was beyond helpful. Robert is perfect for anyone that needs help with physics.

Knowledgable and detail oriented

We engaged Rober's help in applying for indendent middle schools in the greater Boston area. He is very knowledgable in local schools and helped us polish our application questions/essay. He carefully reviewed our writing, asked for more information and helped us weave new stories into the final essay. The final product was lean and flows very smoothly from one quesiton to another. Robert is very accessible and easy to work with. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Awesome tutor

After a couple lessons with Robert, I found him to be very helpful. He’s patient and easy to understand. He would explain all the formulas to me and get to the point. He made calculus seem easy, and I’m very grateful that he could be my tutor.
