I am a mathematician, have a doctoral degree, which is recognized as an equivalence of the US's PhD by the American foreign credential evaluation company World Education Services, trusted by the leading US universities.

After defending PhD, I had a post-doctoral fellowship at one of the oldest European universities. My specialization is Abstract Algebra (including Linear Algebra). I did a number of presentations at the seminars of the Department of Mathematics of Northeastern University (Boston, MA). I have published numerous research papers at International mathematical refereed journals of Elsevier and Springer publishers.

I have a rich pedagogical experience. I have taught various mathematical disciplines (Abstract Algebra, Category Theory, Linear Algebra, Number Theory, Calculus, Probability Theory) at three universities, and also have a rich tutoring experience with Algebra 2, Algebra 1, Prealgebra, Calculus, Precalculus, Advanced Geometry, Prealgebra, Trigonometry.

When working with students I focus not only on technical and algorithmic part of an issue, but also and MAINLY on understanding of the used mathematical notions and arguments in depth. Only such an approach can provide the maximal efficacy of lessons.

I am from former Soviet Union and have an experience of teaching Russian and Georgian languages.

I am a friendly person and like to communicate with students. At this moment I give only online lessons. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson.

A treasure Abstract Algebra tutor!!!

Dali is a very experienced, helpful and patient tutor with the solid background in Abstract Algebra. Dali thoroughly identified gaps in my knowledge, and after covering foundations of Set Theory and some other topics of general mathematics we had a deep dive in Group Theory following “Algebra” by M. Artin. To this date we made 23 sessions with Dali, and there was not one even slightly boring. But the most important thing is that I did a serious progress during these sessions, so that I am eager to make sessions more frequent than before. We are starting now the third chapter of the above-mentioned book. I believe that my progress in Abstract Algebra is provided by Dali’s deep competence and also by her style of teaching. Dali prepares her lessons by carefully selecting material; at the right speed for you, and with a lot of elegance operates complex algebraic notions. If even a minor doubt remains that the student understands all details of a proof or other mathematical arguments, Dali will make sure them explored and cleared out. I do vividly recommend Dali as higher math tutor!

The best tutor I've found on Wyzant (by far)

Dali is *by bar* the best tutor I have met on Wyzant (and I've tried quite a few). When I started studying abstract algebra, I was incredibly intimidated by the subject, and I really struggled to understand the material. Just a few months later, I feel very comfortable with the fundamental concepts, and I've been able to keep up with a fast-paced intermediate class on rings, modules, and category theory. Dali has been instrumental in this shift. I strongly encourage you to try working with her if you're considering it. Here are a few of the reasons that I find most compelling: - She has an incredibly strong background in math. She's often able to instantly figure out multiple solutions to a new problem that I just found, and she's able to identify precise details that are missing in my arguments. It's clear that she has not only mastered the material in these classes, but also has deep experience applying these concepts in a research context. - She's a stellar teacher. She's great at probing me to understand exactly where my intuition breaks down. Because of this, she efficiently pinpoints my gaps and helps fill them in. She's able to effectively assess the level I'm at, and then give me problems that are just slightly outside of my comfort zone. - She's incredibly patient. There have been several situations where I needed to hear the same thing explained 2-3 times. In every single one, she has been exceptionally supportive, and very willing to repeat explanations until I understand the concepts. - She's very responsive to feedback. On a few different occasions, I've suggested that I'd like to make some modifications to the way we do our sessions, and she's happily accommodated my suggestions. I genuinely feel that she is trying her best to help me as much as possible, and I feel comfortable proposing ideas/suggestions if I feel that something could be done more effectively. I can confidently recommend Dali without any reservations.

Adaptive Teacher

I gained so much from my first lesson with Dali, she figures out the best way to get you to understand what is not understood. I’m taking an abstract math course and it is sometimes hard to keep up in class for me. I’m able to get a better understandingunder Dali’s guidance.

Fantastic teacher and mentor

I have been working with Dali for several months learning abstract algebra and real analysis. She is teaching me both subjects from the basics of set theory up. It is clear that she has both a deep understanding of the underlying mathematics, and how to communicate difficult concepts in a clear way. She emphasizes the importance of proofs, and explains them in such a way that they become understandable, even simple. I consider working with a mathematician and teacher of Dali's caliber a privilege and an honor. I hope it is clear from this review that Dali is a fantastic teacher and mentor.

Tremendous and patient tutor

For the past several weeks, we have been working with Dali for tutoring in an advanced course of abstract algebra and so far, it has been a great experience. Working with Dali has help us make a lot of progress on what we were struggling with. Dali is very knowledge about this advanced abstract algebra course. She understands very well the subject matter and is very helpful in providing explanations for it. She is patient, reliable and communicate well with regard to the tasks and expectation. I am very thankful that we found each other and for her tremendous assistance. I would recommend Dali anytime for any one needed a tutor for advanced math courses.

I never thought I could learn a language, but I was wrong!

After Spanish lessons in grade school, French lessons in high school and Italian lessons in college were all an abject failure, life brought me to Russian, and Dali. I have advanced further in the past few weeks than I ever would have thought possible. Not only am I experiencing the excitement of learning a new skill, but it is really building my confidence. Dali is excellent at training me in pronunciation, writing and comprehension with seamless integration. She makes sure that I understand each lesson before we move on, and never rushes me when I feel confused. She pushes me in a good way, knows what I need more practice in and is extremely responsive when I need help or explanations. It's also fun and interesting to chat about cultural differences that come up in our text. Highly recommended!
