Hi, I’m Erin! I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics from UT Austin, where teaching was one of my favorite parts of graduate school. I taught calculus, linear algebra, and abstract algebra as both a teaching assistant and an instructor, and received a departmental teaching award. Hi, I’m Erin! I have a Ph.D. in Mathematics from UT Austin, where teaching was one of my favorite parts of graduate school. I taught calculus, linear algebra, and abstract algebra as both a teaching assistant and an instructor, and received a departmental teaching award. Whether I’m working with a full classroom or a single student, what I enjoy most is pinpointing exactly where someone’s understanding breaks down and rebuilding from there.
Much of my experience is one-on-one. For five years, I mentored undergraduates through independent projects on topics like topological data analysis, neural networks, and stochastic processes, adjusting the pace to each student’s background and goals. I’ve also run a probability bootcamp for graduate students preparing for their Ph.D. qualifying exam, led large calculus exam-review sessions, and designed puzzle-based math sessions for middle and high schoolers.
My strongest subjects are calculus, linear algebra, probability (including measure-theoretic probability), and proof-based courses like discrete math and real analysis. I work with college students at every level, from first-year calculus through graduate coursework and qualifying exams. I also work with curious middle and high schoolers who want to explore math beyond the standard curriculum. In our sessions, I focus on building the tools and understanding to solve a large range of problems.
Feel free to message me about what you’re working on. I’m happy to talk through how I can help!
