I graduated from MIT with a Bachelor’s degree in Computation and Cognition. I started developing my tutoring skills in my senior year of high school 6 years ago when my teacher asked if I could tutor his calculus students that were struggling on material. While I focused mostly on my studies while attending MIT, I also had several teaching experiences. During my sophomore year, I was a teaching assistant for MIT’s Physics I course, guiding students through problem solving sessions. That summer, I volunteered for Momentum AI, where we taught classrooms of high school students about machine learning in Python. The summer of my senior year, I was fortunate enough to volunteer in a STEAM workshop with the MIT MISTI Program in Japan, where I helped facilitate fun and interactive group projects for elementary school students. After graduating, I returned to tutoring Grades 1-12 math through Mathnasium and tutored AMC prep through another organization.
My specialties are tutoring early math concepts, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. I also am comfortable in preparing students for important tests like the SAT, as I have received a perfect score in the math section of the SAT, as well as in my state’s high school standardized test. In addition, I have much experience working in python and programming knowledge in general. As a hobby, I enjoy developing games in unity using C#, so I’m always open to discuss cool projects with coding.
Finally, due to my rigorous MIT education, I have been exposed to many areas outside of math and CS, so if there are any subjects not mentioned that you might need help in, don’t be afraid to ask! If I can’t cover a topic, I might be able to point you to the right resources. I am also always open to feedback from students and parents, as I am learning and growing to meet the changing needs of my students.
