Hi, my name is Eli! I graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biopsychology from Tufts University in 2022. I began tutoring in 9th grade and have since developed a love for teaching. In college, I worked as a learning assistant in introductory physics courses, leading discussion groups with groups of 4-5 students during each class. After graduating, I worked as an AP Biology teacher for 2 years and served as an SAT coach for students at my school throughout that time.

As a teacher, I worked with classes of 30-40 students at a time. Through that experience, I learned the importance of one-on-one help for many students and became very skilled at quickly assessing a student's area of need and filling that gap in a clear way. My doors were always open for office hours, and I spent a great deal of time helping students individually and in small groups to ensure they felt confident and supported. I also gained an intimate understanding of lesson planning, course design, and the AP Biology test, which is invaluable for ensuring students perform well on such a test. I have since stepped away from the classroom to work in cancer research as I pursue a career in medicine, but I am eager to continue teaching in this capacity!
Due to my previous teaching experience, I have access to all the CollegeBoard/AP Classroom materials for the AP Biology course, including a question bank consisting of ~2000 multiple-choice and free-response questions. I am also very familiar with the grading requirements of the College Board. I am looking forward to working with your students on the SAT, in AP/Honors/Standard Biology, or in standard chemistry/physics courses. I am also comfortable tutoring in mathematics up to the level of precalculus. I can't wait to instill not just the knowledge but also the skills necessary for your students to thrive!
