I have over five years of experience tutoring undergraduate and graduate students on topics ranging from calculus to quantum mechanics to probabilistic programming and technical writing. I bring my interdisciplinary research background to all of the subjects that I teach, drawing connections and prioritizing key concepts.

During my undergraduate studies at MIT, I worked in the Center for Theoretical Physics on self-interacting dark matter and other aspects of astroparticle theory. After completing my degree I worked for several years on nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation issues as a computational physicist before enrolling in my doctoral studies, also at MIT. As a PhD student, the majority of my work centers around high-performance computing and machine learning for astrophysical data. In addition to my primary research fields I've published on topics ranging from spacecraft navigation to energy systems modeling and applied probability and statistics for archaeological research.

I take pride in integrating a broad range of fields and topics in my research as well as my teaching, and I look forward to designing an engaging and supportive tutoring curriculum for you or your student.

Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

I was formerly on the teaching staff for MIT's 8.044 Statistical Physics I, the primary thermodynamics and statistical mechanics course for physics majors. I was responsible for grading thermodynamics assignments and answering student questions. Thermodynamics has also played a key role in several of my current and previous research projects, including thermal modeling of asteroids and using entropy to inform the design of inference algorithms.
