I’m Nima, a current MD student who tutors MCAT, biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, immunology, and other science courses. My goal is not just to explain the material, but to help students figure out exactly why they are missing questions and how to study more efficiently.
I work especially well with students who need help organizing difficult science material, identifying high-yield concepts, and learning how to apply what they know to exam questions. For MCAT students, that means identifying whether missed questions are coming from content gaps, passage strategy, timing, or reasoning errors. For course-based students, it means turning dense lecture material into testable concepts and practice questions.
Before medical school, I spent over five years in biomedical engineering and immunology research across academic and industry labs. That background helps me explain difficult science concepts from multiple angles, whether a student needs a big-picture explanation, a step-by-step mechanism, or a more memorable analogy.
I also understand firsthand how difficult high-stakes exams can be. After initially struggling with the MCAT, I improved my score by over 12 points through targeted content review, better study planning, and more deliberate practice. That experience shapes how I tutor- I do not believe in passively reviewing notes for an hour. I help students build a realistic plan, attack weak areas, and practice the way they will actually be tested.
My main tutoring areas are MCAT (B/B and C/P), biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, immunology, pathology, and histology.

ACT Science

I have over five years of published research experience in fields including biochemistry, biomedical engineering, materials science, and immunotherapy. My academic background spans biology, chemistry, physics, and the core sciences tested on the MCAT. I personally improved my MCAT score by over 12 points by reworking my study methods, test-taking strategies, and content review. Now, I specialize in helping students do the same by developing personalized, efficient plans for success.

Personal Statements

I applied to 2 MD linkage programs, was interviewed at both, and accepted at both (one MMI and one traditional interview). My current program provided me a full tuition scholarship for my first year of school. The feedback I received from my Dean was that the admissions committee unanimously accepted me into their program. I now help others with completing their personal statement, application package, and interview skills.

Reviews

Very down to earth, kind and encouraging. HIGHLY recommend.

I was in desperate need of some help with my MCAT study plan. I met with Nima as he's starting med school soon and I can't tell you enough how much he helped me. He is the first person I have talked to that has given me real honest advice about my path and how I can realistically study for the MCAT and work and take care of myself. I really needed to talk to someone and he was the perfect person, I wish I could recommend him to all my pre-med friends. Nima is incredibly knowledgable about research, how to study, and how to be a good human and take care of yourself. I would give him 11 out of 10 stars if I could.
