Bio

Hello, and welcome!

My name is Anthony, and I graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in Neuroscience in 2024. My teaching journey began in middle school when I tutored my classmates in algebra before school, and I have been teaching ever since. Since then, I have developed and taught a forensics camp, mentored a Science Olympiad team, managed a classroom of elementary schoolers for a summer, helped coach a basketball training program, and much more.

In college, I was a course assistant for introductory physics and biology, and for the past three years, I have been a teaching fellow for LS1b, Harvard's introductory genetics course.

Over the course of my education, I have done well on my standardized tests (see below for details). As a result, I know how to prepare for these tests and what strategies are necessary to ace them. I am confident that I can assist you in all stages of your prep, and I am excited to use my experience to help you develop methods that work for you on test day. Outside of exams, I am passionate about science education and writing, and I have 3 years of experience in wet lab and clinical research in Boston and 5+ years in proofreading essays and manuscripts for students and professors. If you have any questions about science or need help editing a paper, I am more than happy to help!

I attribute all of my success to teachers who believed in me and encouraged my curiosity, and I strive to do the same for all my students. My teaching philosophy is simple: learning should be fun and accessible, and I will work with you to create a personalized learning plan to not only reach your goals, but to enjoy the journey as well. Most importantly, I believe in learning to understand and apply, not to memorize; therefore, I expect my students to engage with the material fully and structure my lessons to encourage you to reach your own conclusions.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me, and I look forward to working with you soon!

Peace and love,
Anthony

ACT English

ACT English

My ACT score was a 36 with a 36 in this section. The ACT loves to test certain concepts in specific ways, so I break my instruction into two parts: first, build a solid foundation in the key content so that you can identify what the question is testing and second, apply that knowledge to common question types. Along the way, I teach strategies targeted toward each question so that you can break down any question you see on test day.

Biology

Biology

For the past four years, I have been a member of course staff for Harvard's introductory genetics course, LS1b. As a teaching fellow, I am responsible for leading discussion and laboratory section, in which I clarify any confusion on concepts discussed in lecture and teach proper laboratory protocol. I have a broad foundation across biological fields as a three-time semifinalist in the U.S. Biology Olympiad, which I supplemented with wet-lab research in Parkinson's disease in undergrad.
Chemistry

Chemistry

In high school, I loved biology and chemistry, and I explored my interests by taking AP Chemistry (I scored a 5), co-founding a school Chemistry Club, and going to nationals in Science Olympiad. In college, I took introductory chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry for my major, and I loved every second of it. As a teaching fellow in genetics, I know how important chemistry is to the field, and I actively incorporate biochemical structures into my lessons to emphasize the connection between the two fields.
Genetics

Genetics

For the past four years, I have been a member of course staff for Harvard's introductory genetics course, LS1b. As a teaching fellow, I am responsible for leading discussion and laboratory section, in which I clarify any confusion on concepts discussed in lecture and teach proper laboratory protocol. My foundation in genetics comes from my studies for the United States Biology Olympiad where I was a three-time semifinalist.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I graduated with a degree in Neuroscience with an emphasis on Neurobiology. My coursework covered anatomy, (patho)physiology, microbiology, cytology, and computational neuroscience. I also worked in a research laboratory where I studied aS and lipid metabolic pathways in Parkinson's disease, on which I wrote my senior thesis.
Physics

Physics

In college, I was a member of course staff for Harvard's introductory mechanics course, PS2. As a course assistant, I was responsible for leading office hours, in which I clarified any confusion on concepts discussed in lecture and assisted with problem sets. I credit my strong foundation in both mechanics and E/M to my high school physics teacher, and I received a 5 on both AP Physics C: Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism.
