Hi, I’m Zyna! I’m a current college student at a Top 40 university, majoring in English on a premedical track. I have a strong academic background in multiple subjects, particularly English—ranging from creative and fiction writing to grammar, organization, and essay development. I earned a 3.85 GPA in my English major coursework and previously took AP Language in high school.
I’m also certified in teaching and understanding the French language. I took AP French and have completed DELF exams up to the C1 level, certified by the French government. My preparation was guided by a tutor accredited by the Alliance Française. In addition to English and French, I have a strong grasp of the humanities, having taken AP World History, AP U.S. History, and completed college-level coursework in history, psychology, religion, and philosophy.
I’ve been tutoring students of various ages since my senior year of high school, both in-person and remotely. My teaching approach is highly individualized: I work to understand each student’s learning style, strengths, and challenges, then tailor my sessions to meet their needs. Whether that means using visual tools, breaking down complex concepts, or boosting confidence through guided practice, I focus on making learning both accessible and empowering. I also make a conscious effort to create a supportive environment for neurodivergent and disabled students so they feel confident in their ability to learn and grow!
Most of my experience is in one-on-one settings through freelance tutoring. I’ve supported students in language arts, French, and early STEM subjects, with a particular focus on reading comprehension, writing skills, and executive functioning strategies. I’m always happy to answer questions or discuss how I can best support your learning goals, so please feel free to reach out!
