Hello, my name is Ian. I am a current undergraduate student at Harvard University, and I have experience tutoring people from ages 14-18. I have a true passion for problem solving, and I love to work that into all forms of tutoring so that the subjects can be seen as creative tools for understanding the world.
I have found that information is usually retained best with not only a comprehensive understanding of the topic, but also with a glimpse into the creativity and fun one can have as they acquire more knowledge. I try to bring this into each tutoring session by combining practical understanding with theoretical manipulation and contextualization so that students are prepared for questions in any format. My goal is to give students a knowledge base that they can be proud of and creative with so that their knowledge is worth more than just a score on a test. I am willing to work later hours and early mornings for students with busy schedules, and I am always open to extra questions from students outside of our sessions. I have a tutoring plan that has worked well for year long classes in calculus and physics, but I can also easily help with case-by-case tutoring for students who only need a couple sessions or quick clarification. I also have a good program set up for achieving high SAT scores in both the Math and English sections, but my specialty is the math portion.
