Dear Students and Parents,
My name is Ikshu, and I’m a recent graduate from Johns Hopkins University, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in both Materials Science & Engineering and Neuroscience. I’ve spent the past eight years tutoring students from middle school through college, and in that time, I’ve developed a deep passion for helping others achieve their academic goals—whether it’s mastering a difficult subject, preparing for a major standardized test, or building confidence in the classroom.
My tutoring experience is broad and well-rounded. I’ve worked as an SAT and ACT tutor, an MCAT study consultant (I scored in the 100th percentile on the exam), and a teaching assistant for more than ten undergraduate and graduate-level courses at Johns Hopkins. In addition to standardized testing and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, I specialize in anything STEM, such as Math (Statistics/Algebra/Calculus/Geometry), Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. My students have consistently seen 10–15 point improvements in their scores and often exceed their initial expectations. I credit this success to my highly personalized and adaptive approach to tutoring. I believe every student learns differently, and I strive to meet them where they are by identifying their unique learning style, strengths, and growth areas. From there, I build custom lesson plans that are both structured and flexible, ensuring we make steady progress while leaving room to revisit tough topics as needed.
What sets my approach apart is not just content mastery, but also mentorship. I work hard to build a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and pushing themselves further. I want my students to walk away not just with better grades or higher test scores, but with lifelong learning skills and confidence that will carry them into college and beyond.
I look forward to helping you reach—and exceed—your academic goals!
