I tutor students in English literature and essay writing, and I coach high school seniors on their college essays and applications. From 2010 to 2018, I served on the English faculty at Phillips Exeter Academy, one of the top prep schools in the world, teaching classes in their pre-college program. I hold a Master's degree in English Literature, and a BA in English Literature...

I tutor students in English literature and essay writing, and I coach high school seniors on their college essays and applications. From 2010 to 2018, I served on the English faculty at Phillips Exeter Academy, one of the top prep schools in the world, teaching classes in their pre-college program. I hold a Master's degree in English Literature, and a BA in English Literature and Linguistics from Boston University.

With over 14 years experience, I am adept at creating a dynamic learning space that empowers students to develop into vibrant, fearless writers. I LOVE what I do. My teaching process is highly individualized to each student’s goals, personality, and talents. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all textbooks or cookie-cutter worksheets. I create and customize teaching materials to fully engage each student.

As a college essay coach, I help students craft knockout, one-of-a-kind essays that get noticed. I’ve developed creative methods, tips and tricks to guide students through every stage of the writing process. I guarantee that you will be proud of your finished essays... and I’ll be beaming too!

I’ve tutored ACT English and SAT English prep for 7 years, both for test prep companies and independently. I actually really enjoy it—these tests aren’t much fun, but I love building confidence and skills in my students to help them feel great and score high. I am a patient, test-savvy guide and supportive “prep partner” who will help you practice and master the right strategies for the test.

I specialize in coaching students on college essays, extracurricular activities, honors, resume, and interviews—all the defining “signature” pieces of your application where you MUST set yourself apart from other applicants.
