I’m currently a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am a recent high school graduate and had perfected both the PSAT and SAT. Because I went through the process not long ago, I have a clear understanding of the SAT Math section—both the content and the patterns behind the questions. I’ve put in time to refine what actually works, and pulled together the most effective aspects of different prep courses I’ve seen into an approach that promotes mastery across all of the core SAT math concepts.
Over the past three years, I’ve worked as a one-on-one tutor through my school’s volunteer tutoring center, as well as providing subject-specific math tutoring. I’m intimately familiar with the high school and AP coursework for algebra, statistics, precalculus, and calculus. I see the SAT Math preparation period as an incredibly valuable time in building lasting confidence with mathematics. My experience has been individualized with students at all levels, so I’m used to adjusting how I explain things to match each student’s learning style.
In my sessions, I focus on making the math sections feel manageable and less intimidating—even gameable. We work through problems step by step, but I also help students recognize the key patterns defining these exams and avoid typical mistakes so they can solve questions quickly on their own. Time-management is an exponential multiplier on these exams and an overlooked but learnable skill. I have experience mitigating struggles that come from ADHD, dyslexia, or testing anxiety on exam performance. My goal is not just to improve scores, but to help students feel more confident and in control when they approach math, especially on high-pressure exams.
