I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science with experience teaching Artificial Intelligence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. My work emphasizes not only technical understanding, but also practical application—helping students strengthen study habits, prepare for tests and quizzes, improve problem-solving skills, and develop the confidence needed to succeed academically and professionally.

Through my teaching and mentoring, I help students understand how AI can be used as a learning partner rather than a shortcut. This includes guiding them in prompt engineering, evaluating AI-generated responses, applying machine learning concepts, and using current industry technologies to build skills relevant to today’s workplace.

My goal is to help students reach their full potential by combining strong technical instruction with practical support, responsible use of AI, and a clear focus on achieving their academic and career goals.

My own son has ADHD, so I am very familiar with the challenges that this condition presents to the student. I have a lot of experience in both teaching and tutoring students with ADD and ADHD. The most important aspects to help them with is organization and to give them a sense that they can succeed despite the issues they have. Patience is the most important quality that a a tutor must have when dealing with students with ADD/ADHD.

The first thing I do with a new student is to get to know their learning style and look for topics to inspire their interest. A motivated student will achieve so much more success in life than ones who just go through the motions. I have extensive knowledge in curriculum preparation (I was a certified teacher in the UK and taught at levels equivalent to 5th grade through college). I prepare a comprehensive workbook for all of my students that include all of the materials they will need, and provide learning software for their laptops and references to online help that they will find beneficial. I create an individual plan of study for each of my students and update it each week as they make progress. Above all, I have the patience and flexibility to work with the student until they achieve the success.
