I'm Ananya! I am currently a medical student at the IU School of Medicine. I completed my Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition at Purdue University. Through my coursework, I have developed a passion for the sciences and mathematics. I have truly enjoyed gaining a deep understanding of these subjects, and applying them further to classroom and tutoring settings. My approach to tutoring is focused on gaining a comprehensive understanding of material, and guiding students to find effective study strategies that work best for them. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring because it allows me to grow with the students, and gain satisfaction from establishing an encouraging learning environment for others.

I have one year of tutoring experience in high school chemistry, and spent around 5 hours per week assisting other high school students with homework questions and test preparation. I worked to help them establish effective strategies to use for future exams and assignments.
I continued my work with students at the Purdue University Academic Success Center through the Supplemental Instruction Program (SI). The SI program is designed to provide collaborative and integrative study sessions for students looking for extra practice in certain subject areas. I served the SI program as an SI leader, and led group study activities in Human Anatomy and Physiology during SI sessions. Through this program, my perspective on guiding students developed into encouraging students to developing their own work ethic and determination to master a comprehensive understanding of the course material. My approach is to encourage students to challenge their own thinking and problem solving skills by being adaptable to unique skill sets from students.
I am willing to be very flexible with students and parents to try any new resources that are suggested.
In addition to tutoring, I am also willing to provide any guidance in the journey of being a pre-medicine student or finding successful ways to handle college courses!
