Going through high school I was struggling going between being a teacher or an engineer because I love both teaching and tearing things apart to learn how they worked. One day it dawned on me that I could be a full time engineer and teach on the side. Going through high school I was struggling going between being a teacher or an engineer because I love both teaching and tearing things apart to learn how they worked. One day it dawned on me that I could be a full time engineer and teach on the side. I went to Purdue and studied Electrical Engineering Technology and while there, I got to do both by building circuit and robot along with teaching my friends how to do so.
I have 3 years of tutoring experience and have tutored Spanish, programming, ACT prep and high school algebra and trig. What I love about tutoring are the "Ah ha!" moments and watching others overcome something that had once been difficult. I myself have times grasping a certain concept and have had to excel in breaking it down so I can better understand it. I believe having to do this allows me to break down concepts for others so they can better understand as well.
I have been using both Microsoft Excel and it's companion tool Power BI for the past 3 years to gather and analyze data. This is not just simple pivot tables, but also using PowerQuery (Get and Transform) and Powerpivot to be able to pull in data from various sources, build data models to make sense of your data and then pivot tables and visualizations to see, explore and act on the data. Due to the attention to detail that is required in being a data analyst, I've had to learn how to use both these tools to not only analyze, but check data as well.
I have been using SQL for 7 years now and have experience teaching others in the workplace how to use it as well. I currently spend about 80% of my day writing SQL.
If you're looking for some help on learning SQL, Excel, Power BI, data analytics or programming I'm your guy. I not only enjoy doing it, but enjoy teaching others to become as fluent as well in whatever they're looking to learn. Your "Ah ha!" moments are what I look forward to!
