About Kelly

Bio

I am a voice teacher with years of experience tutoring music theory, sight singing and ear training. With a BA in Vocal Performance and an MM in Vocal Pedagogy I have honed my skills as an instructor and performer. I have worked with students as young as 6 yrs and as mature as 65yrs. I thrive when working one on one as we are able to quickly and easily work on the struggles that the individual student needs to address and celebrate the successes together as they come.

I have an undergraduate degree in vocal performance and experience in Opera, Musical Theatre, Pop, and Country singing styles. My Master's Degree is in Vocal Pedagogy with a 4.0 GPA (from Westminster Choir College.)

As a BA in Vocal Performance student I was required to pass several levels of sight singing and ear training. As a voice teacher for the last 15 years I have worked with students to sharpen their skills in sight singing and ear training. I also actively participated in regular sight singing while in choirs in throughout my career.

I have a BA in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College. I have extensive music theory experience and use it every day while completing my studies; as well as working with my regular/in person students at Concord High School.

After spending years studying voice and piano, I studied music as an undergrad. I had 4 more years of music theory as well as other music disciplines. Then continued my study at the graduate level. I have tutored others for years in music theory and enjoy explaining the foundation for the sounds so loved by all.

With a BA in vocal performance I spent several semesters in Sight singing and Ear training classes. I have had 10 years experience in choirs where sight singing was a daily activity. For the 15 years I have lead my students through sight singing activities in their voice lessons.

I have been teaching voice lessons to students aged 6-60 for the last 15 years. I have a Master of Vocal Pedagogy through Westminster Choir College (Rider University). I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singers in good standing. I am also constantly improving my skills by working privately (as a student) of Stephen Purdy in New York City.

Amazing!

In my first lesson, Kelly was amazing at making me feel comfortable. It can be nerve wrecking to sing in front of someone you’ve never met, but she made it very easy to feel comfortable. I’m looking forward to my next lesson!
