First of all, I will tell you that I have over thirty years of nursing experience in many fields. Medical-Surgical, Ambulatory Surgery, Home Health, Clinic Nursing, Chemical Dependency Nursing, and Nursing Instructor. I was an LPN first, and then continued on for my RN. My bachelor's degree was obtained in Health Science from St. Francis University of Joliet. In my fifties, I went back to college and graduated with my master's of science in nursing with a concentration as a nurse educator....
In my fifties, I went back to college and graduated with my master's of science in nursing with a concentration as a nurse educator. Teaching is very enjoyable to me, because I love learning and I want to see nursing students succeed with the NCLEX.
My availability is flexible since I am basically "semi-retired" in my career. However, I attend conferences, periodicals, and update myself to keep current with nursing science. Becoming a Registered Nurse was the best career choice I made for myself. I feel compassionate and empathetic with caring patients. Nursing changed my entire life. I think differently (using critical thinking skills) and feel obligated to support future nurses. It's not only a career, but a life style change. I'm very passionate about teaching. Your confidence will increase when you pass the NCLEX and I will give you my best so you will succeed!
Sincerely,
Debra
