I have ten years experience tutoring high school and college students in chemistry (organic, inorganic, physical or analytical), physics and mathematics (geometry, calculus and algebra) on both a one on one level as well as in big groups. My undergraduate was a major in chemistry with a minor in math after which I completed a masters in chemistry. I was the top student in all my chemistry classes, so I have a clear understanding of all the concepts to do with chemistry. I will be able to help you or your child to understand these concepts, using real life examples, and will also be able to coach you to the techniques which will enable you to answer them every time.

I tutor because I love working with children. I am happy to work with anyone who is willing to work and am very patient with students as they try to understand new concepts. I have been in the Glenview area the past four years and have tutored high schoolers from Notre Dame, New Trier, GBS, GBN, Deerfield High, Loyola Academy and Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart. So if you are really struggling with chemistry or math or just want to improve your grades I'm the guy for you.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have a BS in math and 10 years high school math tutoring. I have 4 years of tutoring experience in the Northshore area.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have a major in mathematics and have been tutoring all levels of high school math in the Northshore for the last 7 years. Algebra II is one of my favorite courses to tutor and is one of the most important for future math courses. Because of this I strive to ensure students understand and know the material well, so that they are in good standing for the next few years of math.
Calculus,

Calculus

For my undergraduate degree I completed a double major in math and chemistry. At college I took Calc I-III as well as several additional math courses (including graph theory, PDEs and linear algebra). I have tutored in the Northshore area for about seven years, working with students from GBS, GBN, Loyola, New Trier, Stevenson and Lake Forest Academy, as well as several colleges. My goal when working with students is to give them the methods and understanding to solve any question, so that they feel confident and empowered when doing work on their own.
Chemistry,

Chemistry

I have an MS in chemistry with over 64 credit hours in chemistry classes. I have been tutoring for 7 years in the Northshore area, working with students from GBN, GBS, New Trier, Loyola Academy, Highland Park and Lake Forest, and across all levels of chemistry, specializing in AP chemistry classes. I work to create a clear understanding of the subject so that students feel empowered and confident in the class. I also have multiple years experience working with most chemical instrumentation.
Geometry,

Geometry

I have been tutoring geometry in the NorthShore area for the last 7 years and while it is not the most challenging of math courses, students often struggle in this field of math because it is the first time they must write actual proofs. I focus on making sure students understand the methods they need to do this effectively while also helping them with techniques that allow them to visualize and solve problems. I firmly believe that every student can excel in this class with the correct help and some good practice.
Physics,

Physics

I have tutored students in all levels of high school physics for over 10 years. In general I focus on helping my students to understand the concepts involved in physics so that they can dismantle questions down to a few basic ideas. In the past 6 years I have worked with students from GBS, GBN, New Trier, Maine South, Deerfield High School and Loyola and have helped students in the most basic physics classes through AP Physics 1,2 and C.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics and have worked with students in the lowest to the highest level precalculus courses. My past students have included some from New Trier, GBS, GBN, Loyola, Deerfield, Maine South and others. I am extremely experienced with students working in regular/honors precalculus courses usually covering everything including: trigonometry, vectors, parametric graphs and rational expression; and am also very familiar with classes which cover analytic geometry, discrete math and/or statistics. Whether you are simply trying to make it through this class or excelling at the highest level, I can ensure that you master the material and feel confident in your own work.

More than just knowledge of the material

Jason knows the content. He is able to communicate it well. More than that, he challenges your student to live up to their potential. And that is invaluable.

Off to a great start with a smart tutor who put my daughter at ease

My daughter just had her first tutoring session with Jason. She was very nervous as the topic (Chemistry), and the tutor, are new. But Jason was kind and patient and helped to ease her nerves. Jason was prepared and had content ready to go to get her started. We're looking forward to continuing to work with him in the months ahead.
