Hello! I am Cheryl and I have an Associateship and Licentiate Diploma in Violin Performance! With my past 4+ years of music teaching, I realized how engaging students are when given mini music-related games to play during class time. Whether it be flashcards note recognition, or telling stories through music, I love making my lessons an interactive experience. I like letting students pick the pieces they want to play, as they can discover joy in making music. The students' enthusiasm and passion drive me to teach more and more students, sharing my passion for music with the community as well.

I have been playing both the piano and the violin for 14 years. I received the piano and the violin ABRSM (Royal Schools of Music, London, UK) distinction and a music performance Associateship and Licentiate Diploma at Trinity College of Music, London in 2019. Since 2012, I have received numerous awards in overseas music competitions every year, such as the Asia Open Piano Competition, Manhattan International Young Artists Music Festival, and the Hong Kong Youth Barclampory Music Festival.

With over 10 years of orchestral experience, I am the first violinist in the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra (SFSYO), and concertmaster of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of Hong Kong (MYO).

Since 2017, I have been accompanying students in competitions (Pacific Musical Society and Foundation Annual Competition), recitals, and exams (Trinity College of London Diploma exams). I have been teaching young students aged 6-13 both piano and violin. I have helped raise over $1000 for organizations combating COVID-19.

I am very excited to help students reach their fullest potential! I am open to any suggestions or teaching methods as long as the student can learn efficiently while enjoying music at the same time.
