I specialize in helping students excel in SAT/ACT preparation, AP courses, and both high school and college-level math and science. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Data Science from Northwestern University, where my academic work focused on learning, memory, and cognitive performance. I have also completed postgraduate study at both Northwestern University and Johns Hopkins University. My background in psychology informs how I teach: I focus on how students learn, process information, and perform under pressure, which is especially valuable in test preparation and advanced STEM coursework.

I have worked with students for nearly a decade in one-on-one tutoring settings, both online and in person. I teach students how to approach problems clearly and strategically rather than relying on memorization or guesswork. For test prep, I emphasize pacing, error analysis, and confidence management. For AP-level math and science, I break complex concepts into logical, step-by-step frameworks that make challenging material understandable without oversimplifying it. I have worked with a wide range of students, from those building foundational skills to high-achieving students aiming for top percentile performance.

My goal in every session is to help students become confident, independent thinkers. I believe academic success comes from clarity, consistency, and strong learning habits, and I tailor my instruction to each student’s needs and learning style. The most rewarding part of my work is seeing students realize that they can learn effectively, think more deeply, and feel in control of their progress.

Biochemistry

Biochemistry

I help students understand biochemical pathways and molecular mechanisms through clear, step-by-step explanation. Rather than memorizing structures and reactions, we focus on why these processes occur and how they connect to each other. I emphasize reasoning, pattern recognition, and conceptual understanding to make complex information manageable. Students develop confidence in problem-solving and long-term retention needed for AP, college-level, and exam preparation.
Biology

Biology

I have over a decade of experience helping students understand biology at the high school, AP, and introductory college levels. I teach students to build a clear conceptual framework so topics like cellular processes, genetics, physiology, and evolution make sense rather than feeling like disconnected facts. We use step-by-step reasoning and visual organization strategies to make complex systems intuitive and manageable. Students develop stronger exam performance, long-term understanding, and confidence in their ability to learn new material independently.
Calculus

Calculus

I have over a decade of experience helping students learn Calculus at the AP and introductory college levels. I teach clear, structured methods for limits, derivatives, integrals, and series, showing how each idea builds logically from the last. We focus on understanding the underlying concepts rather than memorizing formulas, and we work on efficient problem-solving strategies to improve accuracy. Students develop confidence with multi-step problems and readiness for higher-level math and science courses.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I have over a decade of experience helping students succeed in Chemistry at the high school, AP, and introductory college levels. I focus on building a clear conceptual framework for atomic structure, bonding, thermodynamics, kinetics, and equilibrium so students understand how topics connect rather than memorizing isolated facts. We work on organized problem-solving strategies and structured practice to improve accuracy and confidence. Students develop deeper understanding and stronger performance on quizzes, exams, and standardized tests.
Geometry

Geometry

I have over a decade of experience helping students develop confidence and clarity in Geometry. I teach students to break diagrams and problems into logical, manageable components and show how theorems and properties connect in a coherent framework. We use structured reasoning, visualization strategies, and consistent practice to improve accuracy. Students become stronger problem solvers and build a solid foundation for higher-level math.
Physics

Physics

I have over a decade of experience helping students learn Physics at the high school, AP, and introductory college levels. I teach students to use clear visual reasoning to understand forces, motion, energy, fields, and waves, and then translate those ideas into step-by-step problem-solving methods. We focus on conceptual understanding, dimensional thinking, and systematic approaches rather than memorizing formulas. Students build confidence, accuracy, and long-term mastery that supports success in higher-level math and science.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I have over a decade of experience helping students learn Precalculus and build the foundations needed for success in Calculus. Skeptical about online tutoring, but it was AWESOME!

My daughter thinks Wesley can help her get to where she wants to be on the ACT. She said he teaches well, and that he helped her think about things differently (in a good way!).
