I have a B.A. Degree in Political Science from Kenyon College, a M.A. Degree in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and a M.A. in Politics from Brandeis University. At Brandeis I served as a Graduate Teaching Fellow for undergraduate courses in politics and history, work that included teaching discussion sections and exam review sessions and advising students in one-on-one settings. I also scored in the 96th percentile on both the ACT (31 raw score) and the SAT Reading section and earned a perfect score on the GRE Verbal Reasoning section.
I find working with students in one-on-one settings most productive, as they permit developing lesson plans tailored to individual needs and learning preferences. I work forward from the student’s initial level of attainment and emphasize positive reinforcement throughout, with the belief that confidence built from initial gains can provide the foundation for exponential growth thereafter.
During the course of my studies I earned an "A-" or higher in seventeen graduate and undergraduate courses in political science and history. I also worked as a graduate teaching assistant and student advisor for undergraduate courses in government and politics, history, and international economics.
I am easy to reach and have a good deal of flexibility in terms of scheduling hours and locations. I look forward to hearing from you.
