Hi, my name is Naomi! I have a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Chicago as well as an MA in Humanities and an Honors BA in English and Classics. I have over years 15 of teaching and tutoring experience helping students of all ages and backgrounds, and I teach college and high school in the Chicagoland area. In addition, I am a certified substitute teacher.
I have been a tutor in ELA, ESL, Latin, writing, reading, linguistics, and standardized testing, and I have worked with diverse student populations, in both in-person and online modalities. I tailor my instruction to make learning accessible and engaging for everyone using differentiated tutoring methods that promote critical thinking and active learning. I am deeply committed to inclusive and student-centered tutoring that supports my students’ professional and academic goals.
I welcome students' and parents' suggestions and routinely ask for feedback, which I use to improve my tutoring methods further. I typically reply to inquiries within 24 hours. I look forward to working with you!
