I’m a speech-language pathologist, educator, and higher education leader with 15+ years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, and academic administration; 3+ years of experience overseeing graduate admissions for three top-ranked programs at Northwestern University. I earned my BS ('09) and MA ('11) in Comm Sciences & Disorders from New Mexico State University and a clinical doctorate (SLPD, '22) from Northwestern University. My doctoral work focused on the scientific and behavioral foundations of teaching & learning, health & education policy, org leadership, and adv research methods. I also hold a Higher Education Teaching Certificate ('22) from Harvard’s Bok Center. I've taught anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, and motor learning courses in ways that feel intuitive, applied, and genuinely useful. I've also taught professional integration, reflective practice, and career development with an emphasis on storytelling, comm strategy, leadership presence, and navigating major career pivots.

My teaching experience spans large graduate lecture courses with 60+ students, asynchronous online grad courses, professional seminars, national and international conference presentations, and 1:1 medical training mentorship, supporting adult learners in college admissions prep, through entry level clinical degree programs, and during significant career pivots.

My approach is student-centered and conversational. I focus on helping learners understand WHY a concept matters, not just how to memorize it, and I use visuals, spaced repetition, storytelling, and case-based examples to make challenging material more approachable. I believe learning is easiest when you feel supported and guided by someone who genuinely enjoys the subject. Whether you’re trying to make sense of A&P, needing study skill support, or help mapping out a new career direction, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build confidence step-by-step. My goal is always to make the complex feel clear, manageable, and meaningful.

Approved Subjects

Accent Reduction

Accent Reduction

I’m a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist with 15+ years of clinical experience specializing in voice, speech production, and communication performance, including accent modification and gender-expansive voice work. My training includes advanced knowledge of speech anatomy and physiology, phonetics, motor learning, auditory-perceptual training, and individualized communication coaching. I help clients strengthen clarity, intelligibility, and communicative confidence by targeting speech sound production, rhythm, intonation, resonance, and other features that influence how speech is perceived. My approach is personalized, evidence-based, and centered on helping individuals communicate in ways that feel effective, authentic, and aligned with their goals, whether in professional, academic, or social settings.
ADHD

ADHD

I’m a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist with 15+ years of clinical experience, along with 4+ years teaching and supporting graduate students at Northwestern University. I hold a clinical doctorate (SLPD) and specialize in cognitive functioning, including attention, memory, executive functioning, and the science of teaching and learning. Throughout my career, I have designed individualized, evidence-based supports for both youth and adult learners with ADHD and other executive skill differences. My work focuses on helping individuals build internal and compensatory strategies that strengthen task initiation, organization, working memory, planning, prioritization, cognitive flexibility, self-monitoring, and follow-through. Together, we build systems, routines, and strategies that feel realistic and sustainable, not overwhelming or rigid, enhancing self-confidence and supporting independent application of skills across academic, vocational, and everyday life settings. Neurotypical systems, including many academic environments, often create conditions in which neurodivergent learners (those with ADHD) feel othered, rushed, or misaligned with expectations. In doing so, these settings can inaccurately reflect a learner’s intelligence and potential, mistaking differences in executive functioning for deficits. Over time, and without the right support, this can contribute to behavioral challenges, a diminished sense of self-efficacy, and patterns of underachievement. I enjoy supporting ADHD learners of all ages better understand how their brains operate and use that insight to their advantage. I take a collaborative, no-judgment approach, focusing on helping individuals transform their cognitive strengths into adaptable tools they can apply confidently across settings.

Interview Prep

I bring extensive experience in professional leadership, higher education admissions, graduate program administration, teaching, and professional communication coaching. In my role at Northwestern University, I led end-to-end admissions strategy and processes, including application review, admissions committee training, applicant interviewing, and admissions decision-making. My approach to interview preparation goes beyond rehearsing answers. I help individuals strengthen executive presence, organize their thinking under pressure, improve clarity and storytelling, anticipate common questions, and communicate with greater confidence and authenticity. I especially enjoy helping candidates articulate their “why,” connect their experiences to future goals, and present themselves in a way that feels polished and natural without sounding rehearsed.

I hold a clinical doctorate (SLPD) and specialize in teaching and learning science and cognitive function, including attention, memory, and executive functioning. In addition to my clinical and teaching background, I regularly use Excel for data organization, coding, and data analysis, and I support students in developing confidence with formulas, functions, and structured problem-solving. I focus on helping learners understand the logic behind Excel, not just the steps, so they can apply those skills independently. I’ve designed individualized, evidence-based supports for both youth and adult learners with congenital and acquired cognitive challenges, as well as learners seeking higher-level academic support. My approach is practical, personalized, and grounded in how each individual learns best, helping clients build skills they can use in real life. Personal Statements

My background includes graduate-level teaching, higher education admissions leadership, program administration, and extensive experience supporting academic and professional communication. At Northwestern University, I led key components of graduate admissions strategy and operations, including applicant communications, application review processes, interview coordination, candidate evaluation, and admissions decision support for highly competitive programs. This work gave me a deep understanding of what makes an application stand out and how written materials shape first impressions. I specialize in helping writers move beyond simply listing accomplishments. Strong personal statements should communicate motivation, insight, resilience, intellectual curiosity, and future direction in a way that feels authentic, compelling, and memorable. I work collaboratively with clients to clarify their story, identify the experiences that shaped their perspective, strengthen structure and language, and craft essays that feel polished while remaining distinctly their own voice.
