I hold a bachelor’s degree in Medical Anthropology, graduating cum laude, and a master’s degree in Microbiology, and I recently passed the MCAT in January 2025. I was also accepted into one of my top-choice medical schools, Rush Medical College in Chicago. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in biology and chemistry, and I am passionate about helping students develop a genuine understanding of these subjects. Currently, I work as a clinical research coordinator at the University of Chicago, which allows me to stay engaged with scientific concepts and research daily.

Most of my tutoring experience has been voluntary, working one-on-one with middle and high school students. My method focuses on simplifying complex scientific terms and making them relatable to everyday life, so students see science as practical rather than abstract. For example, when teaching chemistry, I use examples from the kitchen to explain concepts like energy exchange and thermodynamics, helping students connect class lessons to daily experiences.

A central part of my teaching philosophy is helping students overcome the belief that they are “not good at science.” I emphasize that learning science, like any skill, is possible with time, practice, and effort. By dismantling this limiting mindset, I have seen students transform their approach to science. They become more confident, curious, and willing to engage with challenging concepts, which improves performance and fosters a lasting appreciation for the subject.

I have worked one-on-one tutoring middle school science as well as high school AP Biology and Chemistry, tailoring my approach to each student’s needs to help them achieve understanding and success.
