Hi, I'm Heather! I am a current industrial engineering student who will be transferring from Georgia Tech to Northwestern University this fall.
As an engineering student, there’s not a day that goes by where I don’t use math. Math has become like second nature to me, and as a teacher, it’s my goal to make math intuitive, rather than a struggle to memorize or cram.
Additionally, I’ve continued to implement writing throughout my college education. I am a writer for a student magazine, as well as the official Georgia Tech College of Sciences. I’m offering tutoring in any English subjects, as well as any help with college essays. From grammar to essay writing, I want to help my students best express and understand the world through language!
I also scored a 1550 on the SAT, and I am offering test prep as well. I believe that test-taking techniques are just as important as the knowledge of the test content itself, and I approach my students with this balances mindset in order to help them master not only the material, but also how to think the “SAT way.”
I have experience in private tutoring, as well as remote tutoring. I also have experience as a camp counselor and also as an Mathnasium tutor. As a student myself, I understand what it’s like to struggle with grasping content or the urge to get a little ahead in order to make learning in the classroom a bit more effortless. I know how stressful or difficult it can be to learn and succeed, so I always approach my students with patience and respect for their individual learning styles. Most importantly, I will work so that my students can walk out confident in fully understanding the material, rather than memorizing something on a surface level.
