I am an accomplished organic chemist with over 23 years of expertise in researching and teaching organic, medicinal, and natural products chemistry. Holding a master's degree in organic chemistry and a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, I possess a diverse professional background.
My extensive knowledge spans drug design and development, medicinal chemistry, synthetic organic chemistry, as well as isolation and structure elucidation of natural products, and cancer chemotherapy. This breadth of experience enables me to effectively teach organic chemistry at all levels.

At the core of my teaching philosophy lies innovation and adaptability. I strive to incorporate creative and novel approaches in teaching, tailoring them to the specific needs and academic levels of my students. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds of freshmen students, some of whom may lack prior scientific knowledge, I employ real-life examples, particularly from industrial or pharmaceutical applications, to elucidate complex concepts and engage students in the material. Very knowledgeable and encouraging tutor!

I've tried out a few organic chemistry tutors but without a doubt Amir is the best!! I'm currently in organic chemistry 2 but I wish he had tutored me for orgo 1 as well. It is obvious that he has had years of experience teaching because of his ability to explain concepts thoroughly yet concisely. I also really appreciate his use of real life examples to make concepts relatable and easy to understand. He's super patient and does not have a problem re-explaining topics to make sure you understand before moving on. You can tell he is very knowledgeable and passionate about this subject from his years of experience. I'm so happy I found Amir as a tutor and will definitely continue to use him throughout the semester!
