I have 21 years experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and 9 years experience with Adobe Creative Suite (including Adobe InCopy). As an instructor I draw from my 16 years experience as a graphic designer and 10 years as a secretary.
I provide one-on-one tutorials as well as classroom instruction using tools like High Class and other similar computer lab set-ups. I have taught from customized training materials and set curriculum -- to youth, adults and seniors. I provide training in various settings: libraries, computer schools, workforce development programs, corporations and vocational education schools. I enjoy encouraging and cultivating creativity and technological literacy.
I assist with additional resources for practice, study and skills review. I was selected to mentor and train new computer instructors this past spring by the associate faculty manager at the vocational school where I teach. I have mentored four instructors so far.
I am committed to growing and keeping abreast of the latest developments in digital media, learning web design and video editing. I passed my Microsoft PowerPoint Certification Exam April 7th with a score of 925.
I believe my career path, 28 years as a computer and software application user and 6 years teaching software, equips me to be an excellent instructor.
