Dear Future Students and Parents,

My name is Elijah Pierre-Toussaint, and I am a senior civil engineering major at Bradley University. Over the past one and a half years, I have tutored elementary school students in math at the Dream Center in Peoria, IL. This experience has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of how to break down complex concepts into manageable chunks and create personalized lesson plans tailored to each student's unique learning style. My journey with mathematics has not always been easy. I scored very low in math during my high school placement exams, starting below the College Prep standard. However, through perseverance and dedication, I worked my way up from Algebra I to Precalculus, maintaining As and Bs throughout my high school years. This journey has shaped my belief that anything is possible with hard work and determination, a message I strive to impart to all my students.

My tutoring approach focuses on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel confident and motivated to succeed. I specialize in tutoring Elementary (K-6th) math, Pre-algebra, Precalculus, and Trigonometry, as well as Study Skills and Time Management for students from Kindergarten to the Undergraduate level. My methods include hands-on activities, real-world examples, and interactive exercises to help students grasp key concepts effectively. Additionally, I emphasize the importance of effective time management strategies and study habits to help students stay organized and on track with their academic goals.
