I'm Raphael! I graduated from New York University with a bachelor's degree in physics, with minors in English literature and creative writing. I bring an interdisciplinary and creative approach to tutoring, a career I have over two years of experience in. Many people tend to think of themselves as "bad at" math, science, writing, or other skills, but I believe everyone has the tools to achieve fluency in any subject, and that building confidence is key. I meet students where they're at, helping them achieve their personal goals, and am prepared to offer full lesson plans, homework help, test prep, and anything in between.
At NYU, I led drop-in tutoring sessions for underclassmen in introductory physics courses, helping them understand the material and achieve a firm foundation of knowledge. I also volunteered at a nearby fifth grade classroom: fellow physics students and I brought hands-on astronomy activities to the students to get them excited about the sciences. For the past year, I worked as a K-12 math tutor at Mathnasium, tutoring 1-3 students at a time in subjects from addition to calculus.
