I have over 20 years of experience teaching mathematics to students in grades 6–12, as well as college students. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Florida and a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Mathematics from Georgia College & State University. I also hold an active Georgia teaching certificate in Mathematics for grades 6–12. Throughout my career, I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and college-preparatory mathematics in both public and private school settings. I currently tutor students in mathematics and have extensive experience working with students at different ability levels.

My tutoring approach focuses on helping students understand the *why* behind the math rather than simply memorizing steps. I break complex concepts into manageable steps, model problems, provide guided practice, and gradually build students' confidence and independence. I identify gaps in foundational skills that may be making current topics difficult and adjust my instruction to meet each student's needs. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for a test, strengthening foundational skills, or getting ahead in class, I work to make math less intimidating and more manageable.

I believe every student can make progress with the right instruction, patience, and encouragement. My goal is to help students develop a stronger understanding of mathematics, improve their problem-solving skills, and feel more confident tackling challenging problems on their own. With my extensive classroom experience and strong mathematics background, I can provide individualized support in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry.
