I am a certified middle grades visual arts teacher with middle grades math certification and background. I am passionate about educating our middle schoolers here with Gwinnett County Public Schools where I have had the pleasure of teaching art and math for 10 years.

I am a certified middle grades visual arts teacher with middle grades math certification and background. I am passionate about educating our middle schoolers here with Gwinnett County Public Schools where I have had the pleasure of teaching art and math for 10 years.

Before teaching visual arts, which spans the bulk of my career, I taught math remediation or math as a connections for students (6th - 8th) who needed the additional enrichment and support outside of their standard math classes. I continued during these past few years tutoring and supporting 6th graders struggling predominately in pre-algebra and algebra. I provided daily support to our school's 6th grade math teachers during early morning help and enrichment before classes throughout these past school years.

Finally, with 10+ years of teaching visual arts, I am proud to have supported hundreds of students as they tap into their inner creativity and self-expression through visual arts. Many of my former students continue to use their creative skills outside of the classroom; some have gone on to S.O.T.A. at Central Gwinnett as others have gone on to major in art-related fields of study in prestigious institutions like SCADD in Atlanta after graduating from Brookwood.

The subjects that I offer to tutor are Visual Arts; Elementary to Middle Grades Mathethmatics (3rd - 8th); I am also open to tutoring Language Arts (Grammar, Sentence Structure and Vocabulary) and beginning level Spanish.

I am a recent Spelman graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art. I have acquired 20+ credits in Art History courses; my subject areas are mainly in General Art History, History of Painting, Art History: African American Art, and African Art History. While a summer intern/tutor at Bayshore Christian Ministries 2009, I was able to incorporate Art History lessons with the students' art projects, which were showcased during the end of the program Art exhibition. Again I have least 12 credit hours of education courses at Spelman, along with my present endeavors to obtain certification to teach and a masters in painting.

I am a recent graduate of Spelman College where I acquired 12 credit hours in Religious Studies and courses involving people and religious culture specifically within the African Diaspora populations. Furthermore, as a student, I co-directed a Bible Study ministry and met with college students weekly in order to conduct Bible Study sessions. I am currently a Bible Study teacher at my local church, teaching Bible Study classes to students ages 4-17. Overall, I have at least 5 years experience in Bible Study teaching.

I am a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree. That accomplishment for every graduate requires that to have taken the ACT and SAT exams in order to eligible for college. In my tutoring experience, I have taught each of my students various study methods to help them enhance their skills in the areas of interest simply through the method of repetition and ongoing practice. From elementary through middle grades, my students have benefited from my simple study methods, which include how to effectively make and use flash cards; how to take a subject and reteach it; and how one can reuse previous homework assignments to create practice tests and exams. Furthermore, I showed my students how to research online resources to aid them in additional practice. As a camp counselor working with youth at summer camps - I implemented enrichment exercises that helped each of the campers in my class to retain skills learned in their previous grade.

Great Tutor! Cares about how you learn and easy to contact

Jessica cares about how you learn and the accent so that you don't sound awkward when speaking to native speakers. My son has only taken 2 lessons and already knows much about Spanish and the greetings. We look forward to the next lesson. She is very patient and soft-spoken, also very smart. We have already learned around 120 words and how to pronounce them in Spanish. She is very nice and easy to understand and lets you take as long as you want on learning Spanish so that you don't feel too rushed or too slow. My son already knows accents and greetings with long words. I highly recommended Jessica for anyone looking to learn Spanish.
