About Kya

Bio

Hello! My name is Kya! I have completed 15 AP classes during my high school career with a 4.0 GPA (102.188), along with being 19th out of 699 students in my graduating class.

Hello! My name is Kya! I have completed 15 AP classes during my high school career with a 4.0 GPA (102.188), along with being 19th out of 699 students in my graduating class.

I have much experience tutoring students in all subjects and am able to help your child grasp and understand the content material. I also provide feedback for your child to master the content. My lessons are taught in a positive manner and are educational and enjoyable sessions. In the learning process, I help build a child's self-confidence and self-esteem! I have won awards in each subject that I tutor (math, English Language Arts, and instrumental). These awards include 2nd highest Math average in all of elementary school, 3rd place highest ELA average, and the Quincy Jones and Most Outstanding Brass awards. I primarily focus on tutoring elementary and middle school students in Math, English writing and grammar, and beginning French Horn, Trumpet, and Bugle (Boy Scout Merit Badge)/music fundamentals. My goal is for your child to succeed in and outside of the school year!

My Published Writing Awards include:
-First place for Regional "Georgia Young Writer's Competition"
-Second place for the County-Wide Writing Competition
-Second place in State
-Most service hours for the National Beta Club (90+ hours).

As a French Horn and Trumpet performer, I have received the
- "Best Brass" Award during High school
- "Quincy Jones Music Award"--a most distinguished award!
- "Best Brass" Award Middle School
I have played with the All County (sitting first chair), and All District bands, including passing the first audition for All-State band. I sit first chair with the top band in my high school and perform with the Peachtree Wind Ensemble as an outside activity.
