I worked for eleven years at Munster High School, as an instructional assistant, tutoring and teaching math and other subjects, primarily to students with learning disabilities and/or emotional disabilities. I am very good at finding ways to reach students and help them understand. I recently graduated from Purdue University Calumet with my Bachelor's in mathematics with an emphasis in physics.
Being a "seasoned" college student, I have taken many classes (engineering, programming, chemistry, philosophy) and also have valuable life experience. I have been honored to be a mentor to many students over the years. I believe that everyone can be a success and that the only time you fail is when you quit. I enjoy opening students' minds to the idea that math is cool and conquerable! I was so very happy with how my lil one understood her math homework with no problems after meeting with Kay. My daughter looks forward to meeting with her again .
Kay taught me Intergraded Math. I like how Kay completely explains everything and I can comfortably ask questions. I reviewed my intergraded math course lessons with her during the times when I did and didn't have math. It's helped me to the point where I've reviewed an A in my intergraded math 3A course during the summer.
Thanks Kay for patience and practical approach with someone who needs serious confidence booster. I'm speaking of my daughter and my self. I believe we are of to a good start and looking forward to future lessons.
Kay is a great at tutoring. She has helped my daughter in act and math. My daughter feels more confident in both now, thanks to Kay. She is friendly and very reliable.
This was my first ever utilizing a Tudor. But because of Kay, it was possibly the best decision I've made yet. She's the kind of person that you meet for the first time and it like you've known her your entire life.
Kay is working on all aspects of the ACT's with my daughter and her friend. Going over each section, giving them tips and teaching them how to answer all the questions.
Moving right along, I am impressed with how well she can "read" his character to know how to move him in the right directions based on her feel in his progress!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked with teenagers with ADD/ADHD for the past 10 years. Additionally, I have researched the topic personally. I have been impressed with the work of Dr. Daniel Amen and his books on the subject are very interesting and informative.

I have worked in Special Education as an instructional assistant for the past 10 years. In that time I have had the opportunity to work with approximately 10-15 students with Asperger's or Autism. The students have been at various levels in the autism spectrum.
