Ms. Deborah is very knowledgeable in her subjects. She was able to explain difficult concepts and provide tools to help our child succeed. She was very patient with our young son who was taking a higher level course. She is also very flexible with scheduling when important exams were coming up. We recommend her services.

Deborah assisted in geometry. She passionately took her time to go the extra mile to ensure that geometry constructs were fully understood. She did an assessment to clearly find the missing links. With her overall compassion, she will continue to be our tutor.

My son needed someone to work with one on one that his H.S teachers were unwilling to do. Deborah fit that need and we are happy to have found her. She was able to clear up the grey areas that confused him.

My son has had several tutoring sessions with Deborah. Several things I have noticed. His attitude about his Algebra 2 class is better. His grades are starting to go up. He is feeling better about going to tutoring. The only regret (I wished I would have called her sooner).

Deborah did a great job helping my daughter out at the last minute as she prepared for a test.

Deborah is an excellent tutor. She is very patient with my daughter when introducing new concepts on solving algebra problems.

Deborah was very patient with me. She made sure i was very comfortable before moving on to the next problem.Cant wait to see what's in store for our next session.

Deborah responded promptly to a last minute tutor request. Was knowledgeable about subject. My daughter felt comfortable asking questions. We were very pleased.

Deborah was very helpful, she made my daughter feel at ease and very comfortable, she was very knowledgeable and worked with my daughter and made sure she understood what was being taught, she was patient and greatly helped improving my daughters grades, I would definitely recommend Deborah.

My son who's is 6th grade had trouble understanding math, Deborah did an excellent job helping my son understand the questions and helped him problem solve. I would definitely recommend her!

Deborah is a great tutor. She reviewed basic geometry such as formulas and slopes, and showed me when to apply them.

Deborah was very nice and helpful. She went over my sons current lesson and discussed the best times to meet to ensure his tutoring aligned with his test schedule.

Deborah has been doing a great job working with our daughter. She is knowledgeable and very personable. Looking forward to keeping her as her tutor.

Excellent tutor- was on time and well prepared for session. She broke down concepts so they were easy to understand.

Deborah tutored my son in High School Math Analysis and Trigonometry. The extra help and instruction made such a difference in his grades! Deborah was very flexible and accommodating with his busy schedule and always showed up on time! She also provided me with updates by phone and email, so I always felt very informed. My son's confidence improved and so did his math grade! I highly recommend Deborah!

Unfortunately, Deborah was not knowledgeable with this subject. We spent 1 1/2 hours on 2 problems which she was unable to solve. I ended the session at this point since I felt I was wasting my time.

Deborah is such an awesome tutor. She has tremendously helped my son, who has been struggling in Geometry. I highly recommend her as a tutor.

We have had only a few lessons with Deborah, but so far my daughter feels she is breaking things down that makes it easier to understand the Algebra problems. Very patient as well. We are very pleased.

Deborah is an amazing tutor! My brother and I are so blessed that she was able to help us in our math classes when we both realized we needed some help before we took our semester finals. She not only helped me in Trigonometry, but she also helped my brother with Geometry. Deborah is very sweet and patient. She guided me in solving the problems that at first glance I didn't even know where to start, but towards the end of each tutoring session I understood how to solve each problem step-by-step. As active high school students, Deborah was also able to work around our schedule. Thanks to this math diva, I'm happy to say that my brother and I both dominated our math finals with high grades!

Deborah is a very good math tutor. She is an experienced math teacher so she knows her stuff. She helped my daughter with Algebra 1. She was easy to reach by phone or text. She was on time and very helpful. I would recommend her to anyone.

My daughter's tests have significantly improved. She has a better understanding and is performing better on test. Ms. P. is kind and patient. She is detail oriented and explains the concepts in detail and then has my daughter demonstrate that she understands the theory by solving multiple problems. Ms. P. continues to be a kind and thorough tutor with my daughter. We are coming to the end of the semester and she has devoted extra time to help my daughter with her final exam preparation.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have over ten years of experience teaching mathematics in secondary education, seven of which include teaching all levels of Algebra with traditional and inquiry-based curriculum. My expertise and knowledge includes basic algebraic operations such as order of operations, evaluating expressions, simplifying and expanding the distributive property.

I really enjoy explaining how to solve one-step and two-step equations to students in middle or high school. In additon, I am able to help students develop logical and critical thinking skills to solve simple and challenging word problems.

I bring over ten years of teaching mathematics in secondary education; four of which include teaching College Prep Algebra and Advanced Algebra. My expertise includes solving systems of equations and inequalities, matrices and determinants. In addition, I have helped students to gain knowledge and understanding of exponential and logarithmic functions, quadratic and polynomial functions, and trigonometric functions. My goal is to build upon the algebraic and geometric skills learned in previous courses so your student can use prior knowledge to gain new knowledge about more functions.

My expertise in teaching Geometry includes explaining the following concepts and skills:

-Points, lines and collinear points

-Planes and intersection of two planes

Practice drawing and naming points, lines, collinear points and planes

-Line segments and their measures

Practice drawing, naming and measuring line segments

Using the Segment Addition Postulate and algebra

Finding segment length using distance formula

Angles and their measures

Practice naming angles, and measuring angles with a protractor

Classifying types of angles: acute, obtuse, right and straight

Exploring the concepts of Bisector:

Mini-project: Folding Bisectors for angles and segments

Finding midpoints and endpoints of segments

-Using the Angle Addition Postulate

Calculating measures of adjacent angles

Using angle bisectors

- Angles and Intersecting lines

Identify vertical angles and linear pairs

Identify complimentary and supplementary angles

Finding angle pairs in multi-step problem

Reasoning and Proofs

Write reasons for steps in a proof and justify your statements for

Line Segments

Angle pairs

Similar and Congruent Figures, Quadrilaterals and Right Triangle Trigonometry

My experience with tutoring Pre-algebra has included helping students to master the arithmetic of fractions: adding and subtracting fractions with like and unlike denominators, multiplying and dividing fractions. Also the arithmetic of decimals: adding, subtracting and multiplying and dividing decimals

Identifying and generating equivalent forms of rational numbers including whole numbers, fractions and decimals.

Using exponents to represent whole numbers, and exponential and scientific notation

In addition, I will reinforce the algebraic order of operation and the commutative, associative, and distributive properties to evaluate expressions. Also evaluating simple algebraic expressions with one variable.

Ratios to describe to proportional situations and other concepts will be reinforced as needed.
