Teaching and mentoring have been central to my career for over a decade. I began teaching at 17 as an art instructor in Cobb County, and since then I’ve guided students from high school through college in one-on-one, small group, and classroom settings. In 2025, I was honored with Arizona State University’s award for Most Innovative Teaching Assistant for my work in a Biology 1 course tailored for health career students—a recognition that reflects both my creativity and my dedication to student success.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Chemistry from Kennesaw State University, a Master’s in passing from Arizona State University, and I am now in the final year of my PhD in Environmental Life Sciences, specializing in marine biogeochemistry. This training has given me expertise in chemistry, biology, and environmental sciences, which I have translated into years of tutoring and mentoring. I have helped high school students excel in algebra and pre-calculus, guided college students through Chemistry I, II, and organic chemistry, and supported learners in biology, environmental science, and oceanography. One of my proudest moments was tutoring a student through Chemistry I and II; the skills and confidence they gained carried them through their degree and into graduate school, where they are now developing formulas for the hair care industry.
My tutoring style is patient and adaptable. I work step by step with students, asking them to explain their thought processes so I can affirm or redirect their reasoning. I review notes and homework to identify where concepts may be slipping through the cracks, then use examples, visual aids, and analogies to clarify ideas. I also emphasize that mindset matters: learning takes time, and confidence grows with practice. Whether you need support in high school math, college chemistry, biology, or environmental sciences, I bring both expertise and the warmth of a mentor who cares deeply about student success.
