Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I have had five years tutoring public speaking, with students ranging from grades 9-11. Public speaking is a part of the Language Arts curriculum and mastery of the skill is very important. I began tutoring speaking classes to help my students feel more comfortable as they present their speeches in class. I taught my students how to relax and began with a joke or related story. As well as to remember to be on the same level with the audience and pace the speech so that it doesn't tend to sound rushed. As a tutor I enjoy motivating students to work hard in maintaining and developing their abilities in verbal communication skills, as this is a vital element in a successful public speaker.

Excellent ASL tutor!

Carolyn knows ASL very well and has many years of experience within Deaf communities. She is patient and has great ways to explain the signs for new vocabulary so that I will remember them.

first session went well

Ms. Carolyn came for my daughter's first session and it went well. My daughter is usually not attentive when I'm helping her with school work, but Ms. Carolyn had all her attention. My daughter sat with Ms. Carolyn and went over numbers, and letters. Ms. Carolyn had strategies, and lots of patience. I'm very satisfied with her session. Ms. Carolyn will be back next Saturday. Thanks Ms. Carolyn

Very patient and knowledgeable!

Miss Caroline is a great teacher. I have seen a big in difference in my son's approach to writing and his comprehension skills. She does great with him. She is able to get him focused while teaching him study skills and how to reduce distractions.

Professional and personable

I found Carolyn B. and her style refreshing and suitable for my grandson. She jumped right in and he was engaged the entire time. It is an added plus that she happens to be left-handed just like him and better suited, in my opinion, to. assist him in his handwriting journey. If today was any indication of what is ahead, I stand grateful that she answered despite her full schedule. I am confident that this will be a great experience for my grandson - time and money WELL-spent.

Patient and positive tutor

My son's first tutoring lesson with Carolyn went very well! My son truly enjoyed working with her. She is very patient and positive, but most importantly she has given me a lot of hope. I now feel that I can breathe more easily. She is the only one who has helped me understand my son's IEP reports! For my family Carolyn has been an angel.

Great Fit

I lover her. She has developed a good report with my son and is always on time. Money well spent.
