After 22 years in the graphic design field, my teaching career began in 1998 as a basic income tax course instructor. Two years later, upon a friend's suggestion, I became a substitute teacher in various public school systems. This experience afforded the opportunity to observe student academic progress and class management strategies. Six years later, I became a special education inclusion teacher, then an in-home tutor.
If you need someone with patience who can improve your child's reading and math scores--or--to help with basic accounting or income tax courses, please contact me.
Thanks for checking me out!

My husband and I say we are beyond blessed to have found Brian G. He takes time to explain, over and over if needed. He rewrites problems so that they are more easy to read. He understands my daughters weaknesses and knows exactly how to work with her. He is AMAZING!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As an inclusion teacher and substitute teacher, I have worked with individuals or small groups to reinforce material initially introduced by classroom teacher.
I am certified in the following special education fields: T--SP ED general curriculum P-12 consultative, language arts cognitive level, math cognitive level, science cognitive level, and social studies cognitive level.
My tutorial procedure is to review the lesson that was introduced by the student or teacher, divert to a related exercise for the purpose to monitor student retention, then go back to review or reinforce the lesson.
I passed the series 6 and the Series 63 test in 2001. I was a financial advisor (also a tax preparer) with H&R Block for almost one year. I did not renew my license or continue my financial advisement career other than tax preparation. I do trade stocks on a frequent basis (averaging 50 trades a year).
I have prepared tax returns for wage earners, sole proprietors, retirees, and persons involved in investment activities.
Four years of teaching beginner and employee tax preparation courses have helped me maintain an enthusiastic attitude in a dry and intimidating topic such as taxes.
I have worked for H&R Block from 1991 to 2003. For the next several years, I took time off to teach and prepared returns for friends and family only. In 2012, I returned to retail tax industry by working seasonally for Jackson Hewitt.
