Hi, I'm Roy! I have degrees in Aerospace Engineering and in Mechanical Engineering (Material Systems) and have always had a strong passion for teaching and helping guide people toward success.

I began tutoring in 2008 when I ventured into advanced mathematics and mathematical sciences. I realized I had an ability to give students one of the most powerful tools: intuition. It allows my students to grasp advanced concepts in easily digestible components as opposed to getting lost in traditional methodology. My teaching strategy is to gain the perspective of the student and to determine their learning style so that I may guide them from their current understanding of a subject matter (or lack thereof) to a place of higher comprehension in a way that is catered to their preferred learning style. I believe that this is the formula for my high success rate. Altogether, my patience, personable qualities, extensive knowledge of different subject areas, and passion for guiding and teaching make me an excellent tutor!

I am most often requested for my specialty in higher level mathematics such as SAT Math, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus, but I have extensive knowledge and proficiency in all levels of Math (up to Calculus) and many other subject areas such as Test Prep (SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT), Physics, Chemistry, Spanish, and even Professional Salsa (Latin) Dancing!

My main priority is helping students succeed; so I am very open to catering to different needs and utilizing any and all possible resources that can be provided by either myself or my clients. If a client needs to cancel or re-schedule a session, I have a 24-hour notice policy; however, I also have a flexible schedule that can accommodate a wide variety of scheduling needs.
